Buckle up for a short session learning about environmental stressors. There’re stressors to boating you say? You bet your life there are!

Tonight's presentation will include a brief video produced by the National Safe Boating Council through a Coast Guard grant that demonstrates just what can happen, and how it happens when we don’t adequately take care of ourselves while boating. We’ll then talk about the things we can do collectively and individually to ensure that we keep a good day on the water good!

For example, start off with a bad night's rest and then add things as wind, sun and hot temperatures, noise, motion, vibration and glare that all combine to reduce our ability to make good decisions. Even worse, the situation can even affect our ability to physically see what’s directly in front of us! Add a failure to maintain adequate hydration along with the consumption of beverages that contain alcohol and you could be setting yourself and those you care about up for a very bad day on the water.

Stay safe! Arizona sun and summer  temperatures are unforgiving.  Don't let environmental stressors leave you high and dry or worse...two drowned on Lake Pleasant during Memorial Day weekend.
