October’s GMM will feature Rear Admiral Bill Putnam, USN, Ret. 

Bill and his wife Jan have Been residents of Anthem, AZ since 2006 and are proud to call Arizona home.

Upon graduation from Stanford University in 1966, Bill served in the U.S. Navy for 34 Years, commanding a guided missile equipped destroyer, a destroyer squadron and an aircraft carrier group.

 He served two tours in Vietnam, conducted counterterrorism operations in the Mediterranean in 1985 and 1986, led operations with special forces and remnants of the Kuwaiti navy in the furthest reaches of the Persian Gulf during Desert Storm and conducted simultaneous strikes on Osama Bin Laden encampments in Afghanistan and the Sudan in 1998.

Ashore, Bill spent six tours in the Pentagon from 1975 to 2000.  Following navy retirement in 2000, he joined USAA where he was the Senior VP responsible for the 3000 person strong Phoenix office from 2005 until retirement in 2011.
