LPSC Annual Sweetheart
Race & Raft-up
Sorry guys, no men at the helm!
Each year around Valentine's Day, the women of LPSC select their crew, take the helm and show 'em how it's done.
This is our highly anticipated annual ladies' race. That means the ladies' will be at the helm. Gentlemen and husbands may participate but only as crew. This could be the most fun race of the season... hope to see you there.
We will race out of Honeymoon Cove starting at 10:35am. There will be a 5-minute warning horn at 10:30, followed by the last 30 seconds counted down on the radio (VHF channel 69). EVERYONE goes on the next horn.
The course will be north around Balance Rock Island and finish back at Honeymoon Cove, time permitting head back out for a sail. Then return to honeymoon for awards.
The actual course will be set the day of the race and could be shortened due to too much wind... too little wind... or any other adverse conditions. No spinnakers allowed and only one headsail. No race will start after 2pm, allowing time for all entrants and spectators to return to Honeymoon Cove for the announcement of the winners.
New England PHRF numbers will be used to calculate time on time finishing scores.
Even if you are only thinking about participating at this time, please email commodore@lakepleasantsailing.com with your boat details (name of the Skipper, name of the boat, and what kind of boat it is: year, make, model, length, keel type) and the Skipper's name so we have time to research everyone’s handicap.
As always, hail us on VHF channel 69.
After the race everyone is welcome to join the Sweetheart raft-up around 3:30.
